Our Post Motto is:
“Veterans Serving Veterans.”
Department Meeting Notice!
Meeting date is now 16 March 2024
In order to ensure that all Department Officers could attend, the meeting date was changed to accomodate those with competing agendas. The meeting will be at Post 30 located in Inwood, WV.
The Post address is: 141 Middleway Pike, Inwood, WV 25428
Meeting begins at 10:00 AM
All AMVETS members are encouraged to attend, get involved and see if you can help us in our efforts to assist the communities where we live and serve.
Special Notice!
Wondering why you can't find the Post Web Site?
The reason is simple, I (Your Webmaster) and some of the management in the Post and Department made (or did not make) some decisions about the Department Web Sites in a timely manner and our Domain Name (amvetspost38wv.org) was not renewed. The cost from the provider was excessive so I changed the domain type from .org to .com and that is why it cannot be found.
For a limited time, until the domain name ending in .org becomes available again (after the current provider gives up on us paying the excessive costs of renewing it) I will acquire it and then the Post Web Site will be available using either the .org or .com address.
As an FYI, I have a volunteer from Post 17 who will be learning how to manage the Department Web Sites and will take over from me. When she is comfortable doing this she will introduce herself via this page and the Post 38 Facebook page.
Regards and apologies,
Ed Stracka, Post 38 Volunteer and Web Master

Upcoming and ongoing activities at post 38
Post 38 is not a smokey old soldiers bar and lounge. It is a revitalized and active place for Veterans and their families to meet with and associate with like minded individuals who have similar backgrounds and experiences.
We have shuffleboard leagues, corn hole leagues, boating, fishing tournaments and water skiing on the river.
